In his quest to create the perfect blanket, this brilliant inventor led a group of Biddeford, Maine plant employees through a staggering 4,039 experiments over a period of nine years.Finally, in 1967, they developed an almost magical process to create this easy-to-love, high-tech, high-touch Vellux blanket. The patented Vellux recipe includes a mesh-like reinforcement of knitted nylon, two layers of polyurethane foam, nylon fibers and an electro-static charge.
